About Muonix Labs

Built by Technicians. For Technicians.

We make software for system administrators, endpoint technicians, desktop engineering teams and MSPs: the people who get the call when a computer stops working.

What the tagline means

Our tools are made by people who have done the job. Muonix Labs is new, but the work behind it isn't: it comes from hands-on computer repair and support work since 2014. We know the remote session that times out, the event log with ten thousand entries, and the computer that works fine until the user signs in.

Our first product, Muon Insight, started as a small toolkit that bundled a few desktop support scripts together. It grew into an app that answers the questions technicians ask every day: what's wrong, why, and what's safe to do about it.

The name

Why "Muonix"?

A muon is a subatomic particle, a heavier cousin of the electron. Muons from cosmic rays pass straight through solid matter, so scientists use them to see inside things that can't be opened. In 2017 this technique, muography, found a hidden void inside the Great Pyramid of Giza.

The muon was first observed in 1936 in a cloud chamber, where invisible particles show up as trails of droplets.

That's the idea behind our tools: see inside a computer without taking it apart, and turn what you find into a clear answer.

Muonix Labs makes IT software. We aren't affiliated with any company that uses muon imaging in geology, mining or industry.

Values

What we hold ourselves to

  • 01

    Precision

Say exactly what was checked and what was found. Muon Insight reports findings as OK, warning or critical, with the reason, not just raw output.

  • 02

    Safety

Read before you write. Diagnostics don't change anything, repairs ask for confirmation, and the app never touches firewall rules, WinRM configuration or credentials.

  • 03

    Respect for technicians' time

Plain language, packs that run the usual checks in one go, and reports you can share. You're the expert; the tool should keep up.
